OverFlow – 2011

An annual pre-winter community event held for the purpose of meeting the practical needs of those experiencing homelessness

We’re expecting 750 attendees at this event.  Each attendee will receive one of the following items:

• Winter Coats (XL and up)
• Warm Blankets or Sleeping Bags
• Hooded Sweatshirts / Sweatshirts (XL and up)
• Winter Hats
• Winter Scarves
• Winter Gloves
• Toiletries, Toiletry Kit

WE NEED YOUR HELP GATHERING THESE ITEMS!!! We can help you manage a collection of one of these items, or some quantity of these items.  If you’re interested in taking this on, or to make arrangements to drop off donated items, email jodi@charitypartyplayers.com .  All donated items must be delivered to designated sorting location before but no later than October 21st (if you have items after this time, please call 281-2514).

*All donated items can be lightly used or more, if you think it will keep someone warm then it will work.

**At this time we cannot accept any women’s or children’s clothing or men’s dress clothing

With all of us working together, YOU will be making a difference!

• The date is set for November 5^th, from 9:30am – 3:00pm
• Located at the north end of University Park, on Vermont Street, between Meridian and Pennsylvania
• Food, coffee and drinks will be served at the event.  Other features will include flu shots, dental screenings, a prayer tent, and live music
• This year we’d like to add a job fair component.  If you have opportunities or resources to assist with this please contact Rob or Jodi to discuss further.
• Other logistical items needed for the day of the event:  folding tables and chairs, signage, trash bags, name tags, party tent(s), pop-up tents
• We will need 100 volunteers on the day of the event.  Volunteer positions at the OverFlow will first be filled by item donors. Minimum volunteer age is 18.  Email jodi@charitypartyplayers.com to secure your volunteer spot(s)
